CTET: CTET stands for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test, This examination is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India. It is a qualifying examination for candidates aspiring to become a teacher in various Central Government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, State Government Schools and other schools under the administrative control of the Union Territories of India.
The CTET examination is conducted twice a year, generally in the month of July and December, in two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for those who want to teach classes I (One) to V (Five) this also called for primary level teacher, while Paper 2 is for those who want to teach classes VI (Six) to VIII (Eight). Candidates can also appear for both papers of the examination if they wish to teach classes from I to VIII.
The CTET exam is conducted in online (CBT) i.e. Computer Based Test mode and consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions. The duration of the exam is two and a half hours for (Paper 1 and Paper 2) each paper, and there is no negative marking for wrong answers.

CTET Paper 1 Eligibility Criteria
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).

CTET Paper 2 Eligibility Criteria
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET.
